What is Plan Management?

There are three ways to manage the funding in your NDIS plan. Agency managed means the NDIA pays registered providers directly. Self-managed means you handle every invoice and record yourself. Plan managed sits in between: a plan manager like Bloom Care takes care of the financial administration for you.

With Bloom Care managing your plan, you get the best of both worlds: the freedom to use both registered and unregistered providers, without having to chase invoices, track budgets or keep receipts for the NDIA.

Does plan management cost me anything?

No. Plan management is funded separately in your NDIS plan under Improved Life Choices. It does not reduce the funding available for your other supports. You simply ask for plan management to be included at your planning meeting or review.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between plan management and support coordination?
Plan management looks after the money side of your plan: paying invoices, tracking budgets and keeping records. Support coordination helps you find, connect with and manage the services themselves. Many participants have both, and at Bloom Care we can provide both with one point of contact.
Does plan management use up my support funding?
No. Plan management is funded under its own category, Improved Life Choices, which is added to your plan on top of your other budgets. Using a plan manager does not reduce the funding available for your supports.
Can I use unregistered providers if I am plan managed?
Yes. This is one of the biggest advantages of plan management. You can use both registered and unregistered providers, as long as the support is reasonable, related to your disability and within your plan budget.
How do I switch to Bloom Care from another plan manager?
Switching is straightforward. You can end your agreement with your current plan manager in line with its notice period, and we take care of the setup and let your providers know where to send invoices. There is no gap in payments when the handover is done properly.
How quickly do you pay provider invoices?
We process invoices promptly after checking them against your plan and budgets, so providers are paid on time and your supports continue without interruption. You can query any invoice before or after it is paid.
